Presbyterian Promise is an educational and advocacy group which affirms the welcome of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and questioning people in the life of the church. It is dedicated to building community by proclaiming God’s promise of justice and love in Jesus Christ.
Presbyterian Promise’s membership includes both individuals and seven congregations from the Presbytery of Southern New England. Presbyterian Promise is affiliated with More Light Presbyterians and That All May Freely Serve, and is part of the larger church’s movement toward the affirmation and inclusion of LGBTQ+ people.
First Presbyterian Church of New Haven is one of the original member congregations in the Presbytery of Southern New England. For more information see the Presbyterian Promises website.
