PSNE Anti-Racism Training
This event is intended for congregants and members of the Presbytery of Southern New England. The Rev. Jermain Ross-Allam will be our leader during our time together. Rev. Ross-Allam is the Director of the Center for the Repair of Historic Harms of the Presbyterian Church (USA), and a PhD Candidate at Union Theological Seminary in the City of New York.
Rev. Ross-Allam will lead us in conversations about how the work of repair and reparation can matter in your local ministry context, and in our shared ministry as a Presbytery. We will discuss our local context in New England and our faith context as Presbyterians in this place.
These training sessions are not meant to be a substitute for our work as individuals or communities of faith, but to be events that expand, elevate, and energize our commitments and practices. They are set up to be conversational and connectional, so we can re-encounter ourselves and our communities. Most of all we want this to be a time of spiritual re-encounter with the transformative justice we find in our identity in Jesus Christ. As such, the day will be less a traditional “training” or seminar format, and more an invitation into conversation and building relationships with one another as we explore this meaningful work.
Morning snacks and lunch will be provided!
