The Session met on April 18th, 2023. Amanda Harvanek opened the meeting with a devotion related to Psalm 46.

 We then spent significant time fondly reflecting on the contributions and commitment to our congregation and community by Lee and Anita Shaffer. In identifying Anita’s interests in being welcoming, particularly to refugees, we supported the establishment the “Shaffer Welcoming the Stranger Special Fund” with the generous bequest from their estate.

We approved the purchase of materials to move from disposable plastic communion cups to more environmentally-responsible reusable glass communion cups. We then discussed dates and a theme (God’s Provision) for our summer worship series.
