Christian Community Action, Inc. (CCA) is an ecumenical social service organization that expresses faithful witness by providing help, housing, and hope to those who are poor in New Haven.
FPC collects food throughout the month and delivers it to the CCA food pantry at the beginning of each month.
During local harvest months, June through October, we also purchase fresh produce from local farmers’ markets and deliver it weekly to ensure that their clients have access to fresh local food.
FPC Monthly Food Donations
CCA’s Food Pantry Needs Food!
FPC collects food items in the wheelbarrow outside the sanctuary each week and deliver it to CCA at the end of each month.
These are the items most in demand at CCA’s food pantry: Top: white (not brown) rice, cereal, canned fruit (fresh fruit on last Sunday of the month), peanut butter and jams/jellies. Secondary: macaroni & cheese, pasta (not whole wheat), tomato sauces, canned/dry beans, ground/instant coffee, sugar, oils for cooking, cake mixes. Note that they do NOT need canned green vegetables.
You may also drop food off at the CCA office at 168 Davenport Avenue, New Haven, which is open between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm Monday through Friday for donations.
This food pantry served over 2000 households in 2014. With your contributions, we can serve even more in the coming year.
