Robin McHaelen, Executive Director of True Colors is coming to New Haven to meet with clergy and youth leaders in our area to talk with us about the ways True Colors works with LGBTQ young people, engaging them in issues that matter most to LGBTQ youth.
True Colors, Inc., is a non-profit organization that works with other social service agencies, schools, organizations, and communities to ensure that the needs of sexual and gender minority youth are recognized and addressed in fair and just ways. The event will be held on Wednesday, April 29th from noon until 2 p.m. in the Owens Community Building at the First Presbyterian Church of New Haven, 704 Whitney Avenue, New Haven, CT.
Lunch will be provided by Presbyterian Promise, the Presbyterian Church USA’s organization working for the full inclusion of LGBTQ people in the Presbyterian Church. The clergy and youth leaders will talk with Robin about how True Colors might assist congregation’s youth leaders and clergy to learn more about LGBTQ young people and their needs, and how congregations can play a positive role in our youth’s development. The youth we love, care for, and serve need us to have this conversation.
