FPC groups make and serve supper at Columbus House on the first Saturday of every month:

Facilities:

Large, modem restaurant quality
kitchen with everything needed for cooking and serving available. Includes:
Commercial stove, several ovens, a warming oven, large sinks and a walk
in refrigerator. Groups can use these facilities for final preparation
of food or can do the shopping ahead of tune and cook at Columbus House. |
I. Organize
a. Need a minimum
of 3+ people for serving. (adults, families, Youth/Adult Groups etc.).
Children welcome. (Perhaps those experienced could ask new members or families)
b. Provide enough food to
feed 75-80 people.
2. Develop a menu for meal. Basic
recipes are available here.
a. Provide a main
dish or dishes (include a vegetarian entree for about 20).
b. Provide vegetable.
c. Provide a green salad and
dressing.
d. Provide dessert and bread
(Columbus House will provide butter).
e. Drinks are provided by
Columbus House.
3. Arrival time:
5:00 p.m. if meals
are pre-cooked (Meal time is 6:00 p.m.).
Arrive 4:00 p.m., or earlier,
if dinner is to be prepared together in their large, fully equipped, modern
kitchen. (Cooking together is fun. One could be the shopper after the group
decides on a menu.)
4. Arrival:
Announce yourself
at the desk at the side door. They will unlock the back door. Park and
enter in back. Carts are available to carry in food. Guests will assist.
5. Set up (guests will assist),
serve meal, and enjoy helping the people of New Haven.
6. Clean up is done by guests.
No DISHES to do!
7. If you wish, reimbursement
is available through the Mission Committee (give receipts to Mission
Committee Chair) OR can be tax deductible.
