The theme for the 2011 Peacemaking Offering is “A harvest of justice is sown in peace” (James 3:18). This offering, begun in 1980, was created to support the efforts of the PC (USA) to live out a deeper commitment to peacemaking as part of our faithfulness to God.
Our God grants us peace and wholeness but calls us Christians to address the root causes of injustice in its many forms. We can mend the brokenness that exists in our conflict-ridden world. Peacemaking is the human response to God’s gift of peace giving.
Our own church’s Peace and Justice Group has started to respond to this issue and welcomes your input. … Continue

In the season of Pentecost, we celebrate the coming of the Holy Spirit as a force of regeneration and renewal, in our own lives and among God’s people around the world.
We are particularly reminded that the youth of society everywhere, to whom we would look for the promise of spiritual transformation and growth, are also those most vulnerable to the crippling handicaps of poverty, discrimination, violence, and the distractions of a spiritually empty culture.
Our Pentecost offering will be collected on Pentecost Sunday, June 12. Checks may be put in the special envelopes, or simply designated “Pentecost” on the memo line. Please be generous in support of this valuable work of our church.
In this season when we celebrate the child born in Bethlehem, we realize that the birth of Jesus ushered in a new realm of God’s love at work in the world.
Presbyterians can respond to that love at Christmas by giving generously to the Christmas Joy Offering. The Offering helps thousands of students at Presbyterian-related racial ethnic schools and colleges to develop their gifts and find their calling to serve God. At the same time, the Offering helps families of both active and retired church workers to meet unexpected needs through the Assistance Program of the Board of Pensions.
Your gifts to the Christmas Joy Offering—joined with those of Presbyterians everywhere—celebrate the birth of God’s Son by investing in the lives of all of these children of God.… Continue
