PCUSA Ant-Racism Policy – Minute for Mission – August 13, 2017

The 222nd General Assembly(2016) approved the revised Church-wide Antiracism Policy – Facing Racism: A Vision of the Intercultural Community as recommended by the Presbyterian Mission Agency Board.
The Rev. Shannon Craigo-Snell  serves on the church-wide Antiracism Policy Team.  I quote from Shannon:  “This is not a time for timidity. The current struggles over racial justice in the United States mark a kairos moment. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) has long held strong convictions regarding the sinfulness of racism and the need to struggle against it. August – September Pastoral Transitions

On July 9th, the congregation of FPCNH approved their pastor nominating committee’s recommended candidate, The Reverend Jocelyn “J.C.” Cadwalleder.  Read more about her here.  During the month of August, The Reverend John Sandel will be our church moderator.  If you have any pastoral concerns, please contact the church office.  Our new pastor, The Reverend J.C. Cadwalleder, will start at FPCNH on Sunday, September 3, 2017.

Presbyterian Office of Public Witness – Minute for Mission – July 16, 2017

Your Mission Committee has planed a monthly series about the programs and offices of our denomination’s Compassion, Peace and Justice Ministry. Today, Art and Mary Hunt are in bed with colds, and have asked me to speak about one of them – the Presbyterian Office of Public Witness – sometimes referred to as our Washington Office. This office played a big role in the recent Ecumenical Advocacy Days, which Art, Mary and I attended.

The Presbyterian Office of Public Witness is the public policy information and advocacy office of the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). Its task is to advocate, and help the church to advocate, the social witness perspectives and policies of the Presbyterian General Assembly.… Continue
